Concept Foundation is an international not for profit organization, working on improving access to sexual and reproductive health medicines and technologies in low- and middle-income countries worldwide.

 

Founded in 1989, we operate under a collaboration agreement with the World Health Organization to promote the availability of sexual and reproductive health products at affordable prices, and their safe and effective use in low-resource settings.

3 reproductive health medicines prequalified, including first magnesium sulfate product

Inresa Arzneimittel GmbH have achieved WHO prequalification on 15 August 2016 for their magnesium sulfate heptahydrate (MgSO4) 500 mg/ml injection with technical assistance from Concept Foundation. This is the first such product to be prequalified. On the same day, China Resources Zizhu have had their mifepristone 200mg product added to the list of WHO prequalified medicines for use in combination with misoprostol, as have Jai Pharma Ltd with their levonorgestrel 0.03mg progestin-only contraceptive.

Medabon® added to Thai NED list and has new country registration

On 15 July 2016, the committee for the National Essential Drugs (NED) list in Thailand included Medabon® to the NED list.
