![]() | Governance and Operations Governed by a prestigious international Board of Directors, representing leaders in public health and scientific research, physicians, recognized philanthropists, and corporate business leaders, Concept Foundation seeks permanently for assistance in its work through technical advisors, experts, and consultants around the world in the fields of reproductive health, pharmaceutical development, and public health. Concept Foundation is well established and represented by a small core team of professional staff. In order to meet the growing demands of managing its increasing portfolio of license products and international health care development projects, Concept Foundation relies on outsourcing all practical tasks. This practice allows us to gain global access to state-of-the-art knowledge, know-how, and best practices in every segment of the foundation's activities, and effectively enables us to deliver best results in addressing the requests of international donors and other organizations to identify, access, and introduce new products, . Outsourcing allows Concept Foundation to efficiently focus on managing its tasks without the necessity to increase staff levels when in temporary need of practical skills, and provides for a very high level of operational flexibility while exercising cost control with extraordinary transparency. | Financial Support In the first years of its operations, Concept Foundation has received substantial financial support from World Health Organization, World Bank, United Nations Population Fund, Rockefeller Foundation, Packard Foundation, PATH and International Planned Parenthood Federation to build up institutional and operational capacities. From the mid '90s revenues from royalties and license fees from commercial sales by our licensees are increasingly used to cover the Foundation's operational costs and expand the reach of the license products into the developing world. The Future Concept Foundation continues realizing its strong commitment to improve the health of people in the developing world. The experience gained thus far in managing intellectual property for health products and technologies, establishing license agreements with pharmaceutical industry, and creating Public-Private-Partnerships is not only a solid record on which to increase availability and use of its current products; it is also a strong platform on which to rely for sustainability of its operations and achievements, for expanding its activities, building more partnerships between public and private interest groups, managing the development of intellectual property, and thus enable the identification and introduction of new technologies for essential health products that arise in the future. |
